Q: I am a pretribulationist believer, so could
you please explain and tell me what John 6:38-54 means when it
says that He (Jesus) would raise us at the last day? I'm confused.

A: I was a little stumped on this one too.
So I called Chuck Smith & Chuck Missler on KWVE national radio
live today and got your answer on the air.
Chuck & Chuck basically said "be careful to not let
just 1 scripture throw you off from your belief in a PreTribulaton
Rapture. Anyone who reads the Bible with a literal interpretation
in mind can only come to the conclusion that the timing of the
Rapture is before the Tribulation. The Last Day referred to in
John 6:39 is the Last Day of an Era, not the Last Day of the Tribulation."
Now that I think about it, its more clear to me why Chuck &
Chuck's answer is correct. The end of the era that is referred
to is the Church Era! This era that we're in right now, what is
often referred to as the 'Parentheses' in the Prophetic Timeline
when discussing the 70 Weeks of Daniel (the 70th Week hasn't happened
yet, its the 7 years of the Tribulation). Its also interesting
to note that the word in Greek for 'Last Day' in this passage
is eschatos, where we get the word Eschatology which is the study
of the End Times of course.
