God has warned us that even greater deceptions than these are about to happen, which is why God says to Trust Him and His Word, NOT what you see, hear, or feel. In other words, do NOT trust experience over God's Word which is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

If anyone says that the sacrifice of the mass is ... a mere commemoration of the sacrifice consummated on the cross but not a propitiatory one ... and not to be offered for ... the dead, for sins ... let him be anathema.
